About
Northing is one person. I am Rasmus Pedersen, based in Aarhus, Denmark. I build Northing in the evenings and at weekends, alongside a day job as a manager at Kamstrup.
Northing normalizes Europe's fragmented siting data, cadastre, zoning, protected areas, grid geometry, connection capacity and permits, into one screening workflow, so a developer can tell whether a piece of land works before spending on it. Denmark runs live today. The rest of Europe is measured first, then built.
The research
In the summer of 2026 I probed the public siting data of 31 countries: more than 2,000 requests against live services, every grade re-verified in a second pass, every negative finding re-searched in the country's own language. The result is the European Siting Data Index 2026. A permit-data index across the same 31 countries follows in September.
The method
Every source Northing surfaces is live-probed against the real, reachable service, then adversarially re-verified in a second, independent pass before it is graded or shipped. I do not publish a claim I have not checked. When I am wrong, the corrections log will say so, with credit to whoever found it.
Why one person
One person means the pace is honest and the claims are small. It also means I miss things. If you work in one of these markets and a grade looks wrong to you, I would rather hear it than not.
